On the 5th and 6th of September, 2014, the tournament of KSA Open International Chess Championship was held at the Boudl Hotel in Makkah. Ninety six contestant from eleven countries were contesting, and our colleague Hassan Jafar Abzaid scored 7.5 pts from 9 rounds which put him in the second place. He was separated from first place by a half point. The tournament was under the auspices of Asian Chess Federation represented by the President of Asian Chess Federation Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, who handed out the prizes to winner contestants.
