Al-Jouf

This project is the design of the Al-Jouf Regional Airport. The airport is part of GACA’s plans to expand and build 28 airports. The Kingdom is heavily investing in new airports and the project is viewed as a significant development for the region, especially for the cities of Sakakah and Dumal Al-Jandal. GACA awarded the contract for the project to ZFP in April 2012 and ZFP’s role is to provide design and engineering services for the development of the existing airport. The airport property is approximately 6,400 ha and the area currently occupied by the airport perimeter fence is approximately 1,100 ha. The project’s built-up area is measures to around 25,000 m². The proposed plan layout of the new airport development includes: the main terminal building, VIP terminal, department offices, medical clinic, customs building, air traffic control tower, and other service buildings.
