This project is the design of the new branch for Arab Open University in Riyadh. It has a total built-up area of 16,665 m². The aim of the project is to create an academic environment that meets the goals and objectives of the University and with flexibility as its major design criteria. Increasing the relation between formal (classrooms, laboratories, and the library) and informal spaces is considered to enhance learning through experience. The design adopts the Saudi cultural heritage but with a contemporary twist, giving the AOU building a strong sense of identity and functionality yet remains within the available budget.
