The Master plan represented the ultimate development envisaged for the development of the existing airport, which can be achieved through a phased expansion programmed. The master plan development for the upgrade of the airport comprised of the refurbishment of the existing runway designed to handle a code E aircraft, refurbishment of a full-length parallel taxiway, a new main passenger terminal building of 13,000 m² with capacity to handle 1.3 mppa and provide a Level of Service B based upon IATA standards, and all associated infrastructure.
